M HOUSE

The inspiration for this house is mid-century modern style, with the influence of the owner’s taste.

The chosen materials have been put together in a warm combination, the result being a beautiful composition.

Situated in one of the older neighborhoods of the city, the plot is bigger than usual and has amazing mature trees to the rear.

We took advantage of this position in our design and integrated two beautiful terraces on the second floor that are great vantage points of the surroundings.

On the main floor, our solution for the open space-zone was floor-to-ceiling glazing. It offers amazing views and connects to the outside, but it can easily become too sunny in the summertime.

To prevent this, we made a sun study on the facade and the result inspired us to introduce a cantilever that protects the large windows from the direct sunlight in the summertime from 10 a.m. through the afternoon.

In our choices for the interior materials and furniture, we kept the mid-century modern inspiration in mind, in a combination with contemporary lines.

We believe that design means the owners and those who use the space identify with everything that surrounds them.

In this case, we used very warm colors and textures, together with subtle yet present lighting.
